Outdoor Plank Challenge -Fall Edition

Hello loves!

We are well into fall- currently in the end of October- and are ready for a challenge! Are you?

We are running the 2 Week Outdoor Plank Challenge - Fall Edition! 🍂🍂

We ran the Outdoor Plank Challenge last year in the summer when MomFit was fairly new, it was one among our first 3 challenges. We loved running this challenge so much it has been on the calendar since January! We have been waiting for the perfect time to run it and we think that now its that time.

This challenge is great because it gives you reason to get outdoors-even if it is only for a few minutes to plank. Being outside does wonderful things to our minds and bodies so any excuse is good to get a breath of fresh air.

When fall hits we tend to start our hibernation habits. We stay inside more, plan more indoor friendly activities, and try to stay warm. Before the snow hits lets enjoy the beauty of autumn in the crisp air of fall!

The 2 Week Outdoor Plank Challenge starts November 1st and goes for 2 weeks-until the 14th.

That is 14 days of planking.

We suggest you hold your plank each day for 20 seconds to 1 minute so you engage your core daily and improve your strength.

How you plank is completely up to you (except 2 days). Meaning if you want to do a standard plank at all outdoor locations then go for it. If you want to do elbow plank, side plank, reverse plank, or mix it up- any of it is perfect.

The goal of this challenge is to get outside and get in some movement but also to have fun. MomFit wants to show you that you can plank just about anywhere! If you ever feel like you don't have time to workout then do this challenge and see how easy it is to get in core work everyday.

What do you do? Below is a list of locations where you will plank for this challenge. Each day will be a new location. Go there, do a plank, and capture it. Most of the locations are easy to find and/or close to most homes. If you can't make it work exactly then modify it-as long as the plank is outdoors.

Feel free to be creative with your locations as well. That is part of the fun! Looking to see how others make it work and sharing your daily plank.

Once you have your plank photo share it to your social media page and #momfitplanker2 and tag us @momfit_life

We will be sharing our daily planks in our MomFit Tribe and on our social media pages (Instagram, Facebook, & Twitter) everyday so check in to see our locations and daily planks.

A few of the locations/planks need a little explaining.

  • Plank with pockets-meaning get out of your yoga pants. Put on some jeans and while you're out and do a plank. Find that you can plank in almost any attire.

  • Pike Plank- This is not a 'location' but more a type of plank. You can do this plank at any outdoor location you like as long as you are doing a pike plank. Pike Plank looks very similar to down dog. You can also achieve a more extreme pike by placing your fee on an elevated surface.

  • Plank with a pet- if you don't have a pet use a stuffed animal or a nearby statue of an animal. If none of these are options don't skip the day- do an outdoor plank and make it creative!

  • Pythagorean Plank comes from Pythagorean theorem-as in the math equation to figure the length of one side of a triangle. So this plank can be anywhere but your plank has to be a triangle. Side tree plank is an easy way to achieve this-but you can always come up with something of our own :)

I only went over a few of the plank locations here. If you have any questions on the location or the type of planks please message us or check our social media for how we achieved the plank.

Take in the fall beauty and breathe in the crisp hair and don't forget to have a cup of hot cider when you finish!

With love 💗

Smooches 😚
