Cheese go? I don't know what that means!
Reading this title may have you feeling just like the gif above. Don't take my cheese!
When you want to be healthy does cheese really have to go?
Today is National Cheese Lovers Day and we are here to tell you that you don't have to give cheese up altogether-especially not today-to have a healthy diet! But you may want to think about how much cheese you are eating.
I myself love cheese!
I used to eat a ton of it.
It is full of protein & calcium. Easy to grab. You don't have to cook it. It is satisfying. There is no shortage of flavors and everything seems to taste better with cheese!
The down fall....
It has a lot of fat.
Cutting the amount of cheese I eat and/or the type of cheese I have in my diet has helped me keep off the pounds. But notice I didn't say I cut cheese altogether. (Ya-I chuckled at that)
Contrary to many assumptions reduced fat cheese tastes pretty similar to regular cheese.
I find it is a good substitute to regular or high fat cheeses.
You may not have to give up this yummy snack but lowering your intake does help with weight loss.
To help lower your cheese intake be sure you add the cheese yourself. This way you know how much cheese you are consuming and what type of cheese is being used. Lowering the amount of cheese you eat also lowers the amount of cheese cravings you have. When we eat cheese it releases opiates called casomorphins as it digests. These hormones give us a positive feeling causing us to want to create that feeling again. Hence addiction. Cheese is not saturated with this hormone so it takes a lot of eating cheese to get major cravings but curbing the amount of cheese you eat helps reduce your desire for more cheese. It is an awful cycle.
Take today to enjoy some slice of cheesiness just get extra cheesy 😜
Smooches 😘
